Positive Creative Expression Leads to Academic Excellence

teen doing schoolwork through her academic program in UtahOur highly-trained, empathic, nurturing, and talented team of professionals use creative arts in addition to powerful academics for teens in treatment to help our students discover who they truly are. Our students are extensively and holistically trained in various life-affirming artistic crafts, helping them develop the emotional, physical, and social tools they need to live up to their full potential.

When a student builds a positive self-concept through his or her artistic talents, it opens the door to the development of many other important components, including a healthy self-identity.

A positive self-concept is essential in the natural development of young people and leads to emotional, social, and academic improvements. To this end, healthy self-concept promotes educational attributes like:

  • Academic effort, persistence, and achievement
  • Educational aspirations
  • Awareness and accountability for one’s own behavior
  • Focus and clarity in communication
  • Completion of high school
  • Pursuit of a college education
